This year, the Finnish AeroPress Championship was held in Lahti on September 7, 2025. A total of 20 competitors took part in the journey to represent Finland at the World AeroPress Championship in Seoul. In South Korea on December 5–6, the national champions will battle for the title of the world’s best coffee brewed with an AeroPress.
From the final three, the judges selected the coffee prepared by Aake Salonen, which means that Aake will represent Finland on the international stage in December. In second place was Maimu Jõgeda and in third place Mika Kuusisto.
“My recipe had three key points: Lahti tap water, removing the bitter crema, and increasing the amount of oxygen in the coffee.”
